Halloween spider brooch in wood and beads

To make the brooch: * ugly beads * toothpicks * small beads (seed beads) * movable eyes (optional) * paint and brush * brooch pin (approx. 3 cm) * 15 cm wire 0.5 mm * a glue gun * liquid glue To make the "ugly" beads yourself: * a scroll saw * a piece of 16 cm x 9 cm plywood, 5 mm thick * tracing paper * a pencil * sandpaper * a drill * a 0.5 mm drill bit

- Print out the bead pattern and enlarge if necessary.
- Transfer the outline of the beads onto the plywood using the tracing paper. - Cut out each piece, starting with the smallest (be careful with your fingers!), using a scroll saw. - Sand each piece. - Drill a hole in the edge of the small pieces about 5 mm (be careful not to go through the piece!) and 5 holes in the edge of the spider (3 on the top and 2 on the bottom).

Prick the "ugly" beads onto toothpicks for easier painting.  
Paint each piece and leave to dry. Cut 5 pieces of wire of varying lengths (min 3.5 cm), coat one end of each piece of wire with liquid glue and prick it into the spider (see the holes in the edge), glue on the movable eyes and leave to dry.

Thread small beads onto each wire, add a dab of liquid glue and a "ugly" wooden bead. Leave to dry.

Heat up the glue gun, turn the spider upside down, apply a few dabs of hot glue to the pin, and leave to cool! Slightly bend the wires to give the brooch an attractive appearance.
