Soccer shirt painting activity
between two World Cups and before each Euro, there's a wave of "soccer passion" in the school playground, with everyone choosing their favorite team and, above all, their favorite soccer jersey!
Hence Loïc's idea to create his own soccer jersey by inventing his own logo!
fans will recognize the original jerseys that inspired these various creations...
The materials:
- a T-shirt: washed to remove the primer, then ironed
- textile paint in a bottle
|
|
We tested two types of paint, the principle being to dispense with brushes...
Multi-surface relief paint |
Stylofelt-tip pens for textiles |
+ If you're not happy with the design, just run the T-shirt under water and the paint leaves no trace.
+ What |
'
s more, these same bottles can also be used for Scrapbooking, napkins, etc.!
+ (After ironing) Perfectly machine-washable (tested at 30°) + tumble-dry.
- Not at all easy for children to press the bottle regularly!
|
+ Easy to trace (with the help of rulers, wooden shapes etc...) and to color.
- Hand-washing recommended, much less practical for moms!
|
1st
step
Draw the designs to be painted on the T-shirt with a pencil. It's highly recommended to start by sketching the desired motifs on a sheet of paper!
2ndstep
Wrap the T-shirt in cardboard so as not to stain the back of the T-shirt at the same time.
Paint the motifs. |
Preferably use stencils for the outlines, using objects from the toy box (wooden letters or numbers, flat shapes, etc.).
Once the surface is dry to the touch, move on to personalizing the back of the shirt with the fetish number, possibly the first name, but avoiding the family name...
|
|
|
3rd
step
Let dry, flat, generally 24 hours, and on certain relief paints, up to 72 hours! So much for the soccer game...
4th
step
The colors are generally fixed with an iron (sometimes in the oven or clothes dryer - see the paint documentation on this subject). Ironing is done inside out.
Please note that it usually takes 5 minutes to set the colors on the iron (cotton position and without steam), and 5 minutes for each pattern is a long time! If this time is not respected, the colors may fade in the wash...
The fashion detail: the logo on the sleeve! |
