Rocaille bead mounting

Rocaille beads are tiny glass, metal or crystal beads, transparent or opaque. They also come in mini sizes, for use as embroidery on clothing, for example. Tip: use beads from different tubes and baths in the same creation, for a more iridescent effect. Indispensable for creating beaded rings, round beads or spinning tops with geometric lines are used for the central motif of the rings. Made of plastic, glass or crystal, the best-known, thanks to their perfect regularity, are Swarovski crystal beads, which have been around since the 19th century!

Faceted beads are also very useful in jewelry-making, as they catch the light and are available in oval or round shapes.

Which wire to use

Wires are used to support rings and jewelry. Nylon wires come in several thicknesses and even colors. They are strong, flexible and discreet when transparent. Metal wires also come in a variety of diameters and colors, in brass and silver (more expensive). They are pleasant to work with because, during assembly, once tightened, they do not relax. They give rings a more rigid shape. However, they are more brittle than nylon.
