Gemstone zig-zag bracelet

A photo tutorial for making an elegant bracelet with gemstone beads and a beautiful zig-zag effect; a 3-row bracelet easy to assemble with Swarovski ® triple-row rhinestone clips. The pearls are gemstones: obsidian and white Howlite pearls for the lovely contrast they offer, but the bracelet can be made with other pearls of the same diameter, i.e. 6mm.

Fitting the clasp

Fitting the bracelet clasp
The first step in assembling this bracelet is to fit the clasp; Pass a 25 cm piece of wire through the first hole in the clasp, leaving it a few centimetres long. Thread a squeezable pearl onto the 2 wires. Slide it so that it sticks to the clasp, then leave a small margin of about 1mm between them.
Fitting the triple-row clasp
Crush the pearl with the flat-nose pliers, then place a "crush pearl" cover over it and close it again, still using the pliers. Do the same for the other 2 wires, also 25 cm long.

Stringing beads

Stringing gemstone beads
Add on the 1st thread: an Obsidian bead and 3 white Howlite beads. On the 2nd thread: 2 Obsidian beads and 2 white Howlite beads. On the 3rd thread: 3 Obsidian beads and 1 white Howlite bead. Then pass each thread through a rhinestone clip. The protruding threads must hide under the beads (once the bracelet is finished, they will get stuck there).
Zig-zag bracelet motifs
For the 2nd motif of the bracelet, which will give it its zig-zag shape, add: - on the 1st thread: 2 Obsidian beads - on the 2nd thread: 1 Obsidian bead, 1 white Howlite bead, 1 Obsidian bead - on the 3rd thread: 4 Obsidian beads. Then thread each thread through a rhinestone barrette.
Zig-zag bracelet motifs
Here's the bracelet in its entirety to better see how the motifs are made between each rhinestone bar. The 3rd motif is therefore similar to the 2nd but with the colors and the "top" and "bottom" wires reversed. The 4th motif is like the 2nd. The 5th motif is like the 3rd. The 6th motif is like the 2nd. The last motif is like the 1st reversed.

Finish the bracelet

Finishing the zig-zag bracelet with its clasp
To complete the bracelet, add a crush pearl to each thread, then pass each thread through the clasp: be careful to place the clasp in the right direction. Each thread passes again through the crush pearl, then through the 2 following pearls. Tighten the threads, then give a little play around each crush pearl. Cut any protruding threads, but once cut, do not move the bracelet! Crush the crush pearls with the pliers. Place a bead cover on each one and pinch gently to close. Your zig-zag bracelet is ready!
White howlite earrings
If you would like to make other costume bracelets or jewelry to match this bracelet, here you are:
- a necklace in white Obsidian and Howlite beads,
- an obsidian and Swarovski crystal ring with matching pendant,
- and the earrings opposite (available in kit or mounted) with white Howlite rings.
