Making a multi-row bracelet

In the spirit of Brazilian bracelets revisited Hipanema style, here's how to make your own elegant multirow bracelet by combining styles that appeal: braided bracelet, leather bracelet, ribbon-braided chain bracelet, loop bracelet... Add a few pearls, compose with a dominant color or assorted colors, play with different materials (leather, cotton, satin ribbon... ) and you've got a unique multirow bracelet to wear for any occasion.

Hardware

Swarovski multi-row clasp bracelet
First and foremost, you'll need a multi-rank clasp ending in rings. A cord is attached to each ring. The number of rows on the clasp therefore determines the number of bracelets to be attached.
This is a vintage clasp with 8 rows, set with Swarovski rhinestones... that's where elegance begins!

Loop bracelet

Multi-cord bracelet with metal loops
Instead of using a flat leather strap to thread onto the metal loops, 6 lengths of thin 1.5mm diameter red cord are used. These lengths lie flat because their diameter fills the height of the loop. To prevent the loops from slipping over the strands, simply apply a little glue perpendicular to the cords and slide the loop through.
A little fantasy: instead of attaching the 6 cords with a flat cord clamp, the ends of the cords are attached 2 by 2 in small cord clips (to be closed with a flat clip). A ring then joins each clamp with the multi-strand clasp.

Woven chain bracelet

Braided chain bracelet with ribbon
The trendy ribbon-braided chain bracelet is ideal here for adding volume to our multi-row bracelet. A long satin ribbon is knotted from a wide-link chain (here, the links are 16 mm by 11 mm high and delicately decorated in silver plating). The ribbon should be at least 3 times as long as the chain. Pass the ribbon through the first link and even out the ends.
Braiding a chain with a ribbon
Simply "braid" the 2 ribbons into the chain, passing one ribbon through the next link, then the other ribbon through the same link above the first ribbon, and so on. By tightening and working evenly, you obtain an elegant braided chain.

At the last link, tie the ribbons and cut on the bias, leaving a 5 cm overhang (again, a little fantasy!).

Braided bracelets

Braiding cords
To match the Hipanema style, you need a simple braid. To make it more chic, 2 fine red cords are braided with a fine silver braided mesh thread. Gather 2 lengths of red cords and one length of silver thread in a cord clip (close with a flat clip).
Braided cotton and silver-plated metal bracelet
Braid the 3 strands together but loosely as the silver wire does not allow this. Finish by adjusting the length and placing the 3 strands in a cord clamp.
Bracelet with pearls
Another bracelet is braided with 3 red cotton threads, but with a decorative silver pearl regularly interspersed.

Leather strap

A final bracelet is made from red leather cord. With a nice diameter (4mm), this red leather cord is particularly elegant and needs no further decoration. The cord is attached to the multi-rank clasp by round cord fasteners: the leather end is glued and pressed into a cord fastener of the same diameter. Leave to dry.
