Relook of a household brush

A fashionable look for this brush... to be scrubbed, because being useful doesn't prevent you from having a strong look! A quick custo, for this natural wood brush.
Brush makeover

Hardware

  • mosaic
  • squares and mini-squares in shades of mauve to pink
  • universal glue in a tube
  • relief paste
  • violet and white paint

Background paint

purple-painted brush
First, paint all the wood of the brush purple (this will color the small joints between the mosaic squares). Paint a second coat on the sides of the brush.

Gluing the mosaic

mosaic glue
At the edge of the brush and along the curve, place a line of glue. Glue a line of mosaic squares, close together.
Continue in this way for 2 rows, alternating colors. The lines stop when their curves no longer allow you to place a square shape.

Highlighting

Relief paste on the brush
Using a fine spatula, spread a generous layer of relief paste over the top of the brush not covered with mosaic. With a fine point, draw small spirals in this paste: a pretty pattern is formed. Without waiting for the paste to dry out, include here and there mini-tesserae of mosaic in assorted colors.
A very mauve brush
Use a fine brush to paint the dry relief paste (it's quick) in a lighter violet, leaving "white paste" hollows to accentuate the relief effect. Be careful not to paint the mosaic squares! Once the paint is dry too, the brush can be used... good job!
