The makeover of an old piece of furniture

How to make new out of old

The starting point was a simple piece of furniture bought from Emmaüs to fit in a corner. it's so ugly and dirty that no one will look at it...and what's more, it's nothing but vulgar plywood. But the price is so ridiculously low that I decide to take it (3€).
Here's the piece when you buy it.

The work

I wash and sand it. I remove the yellow felt and fill in all defects and screw holes with wood putty.

After drying

I glue thick paper in relief on the tray.   i spray-paint the feet with silver paint and paint the rest in light cappuccino.

The final phase

Finally, using Decopatch-type varnish-glue, I glue glazed paper (used by florists) onto the door. When it's completely dry, I apply another coat of varnish-glue. Then, the next day, I apply a coat of marine varnish to ensure maximum protection against stains and splashes. Then I replace the plastic handles with more modern aluminum ones. Here's the result.
