Santa's sleigh in a table basket
"Mon beau traineau" in Santa's colors will take pride of place on the festive table, as a centerpiece basket, or at the foot of the tree, filled with charming little gifts.
Hardware
- a ready-to-paint rough-hewn wooden mini sleigh or the 2-stag sleigh from the Fournitures créatives store
- acrylic paint in red, white or metallic gray,
- red granite paint,
- snow-effect structure paste
- crystal rhinestones: around 20 Swarovski 16mm Crystal ab rhinestones and 3 Red (Light siam) 20mm rhinestones
- rhinestone glue.

Painting stage
The idea is to paint the inside of the sled in light red, and the outside in granite red, with the edges painted white. Start by painting the runners in metallic grey, place the sled on pencils to let the paint dry, and paint the bottom of the sled in light red.
The exterior is therefore painted with this particular granite-effect paint: granular, its black pigments enhance the red hue.
Snow & rhinestones
The edges are painted white, then decorated with snow: using a spatula, snow-effect paste is applied in small touches.
Without waiting for the dough to dry, place Crystal ab rhinestones here and there on the edges and gently press them into the dough. They can also be glued where there is no snow.
Finally, 3 Light siam rhinestones are glued to the top of the sleigh.
If the sleigh is to hold foodstuffs, it is essential to varnish the inside with a food-safe varnish.
