Rhinestone motifs for Christmas tables

To decorate your Christmas table in an original way, here are some ideas using rhinestone motifs. Inexpensive decoration for an elegant table.

First a candle jar decorated with rhinestones, then a napkin with a rhinestone pattern in red, crystal and black, to match a black-and-white decoration as well as a decoration in traditional red.

How to apply a rhinestone motif?

The following techniques have been tested on the rhinestone motifs sold in the "Bijoux et perles" store. With motifs from other origins, you'll need to test them beforehand.

The classic method for gluing a rhinestone motif is to first remove the white protective film: the rhinestones rest on a self-adhesive transparent sheet.
This makes it easy to place the rhinestone motif precisely where you want it, so it adheres to the substrate (whether glass or fabric).
It's then necessary to protect the motif with a damp cloth (usually cotton), then use an iron at a maximum temperature of 170-180° (which corresponds to the ironing temperature of cotton) and without steam.
apply the iron firmly to the motif for 12-15 seconds for a small motif (but 5 to 10 minutes for a very large motif, where you'll need to move the iron), then leave the support to cool. When it's cold, gently remove the transparent sheet, the rhinestones are well bonded to the support, and the result is there!

Tipfor fabric: iron on the reverse side of the fabric (no need to use a damp cloth).

Photophore decorated with rhinestones

The chosen motif must, of course, be smaller than the space available on the glass candle jar. Here, the motif is a Santa's hat adorned with a holly leaf.
Instead of using the classic method described above, we propose a novel solution that will enable you to easily create a large number of photophore decorations with rhinestones.
It's always a question of "sticking" the motif onto the glass support, pressing it down well, then placing it in an oven heated to 200°. Wait 3 minutes, then remove from the oven and wait for it to cool before removing the transparent film: the motif is perfectly stuck, effortlessly!
To place on a Christmas table, our candle jar is filled with faceted Crystal ab crystal beads (which reflect light so beautifully) and the tealight candle is placed within the beads: guaranteed effect!

Strass motifs can also be glued to glasses, bottles, vases, mirrors...
Tip: always remember to degrease the substrate before fusing.

here, a Christmas snowman motif in red, black and crystal colors decorates the napkin. An idea for a chef's apron, or a textile decoration for wine bottles...

The glued motifs resist washing well, even in a machine at 40°, and even in a tumble-dryer.
