Relook a glass bottle
From a simple recycled glass bottle, a bathroom decoration is created, with repositionable paint and matching beads. Materials
  • A small glass bottle (recycled glass is even better)
  • 3 bottles of blue-green Windows Color paints
  • a plastic pouch
  • navy blue string
  • blue brass wire
  • pressed glass beads (round-edged tops, round beads and cat's-eye beads) in shades of light green, Capri blue and aquamarine blue
  • seed beads

Without waiting for the paint to dry, as soon as a rectangle is finished, use a piece of wire (or paperclip) to draw small rounded lines between two different colors and at different levels on the strips of paint.

Wait for complete drying, then cut out geometric shapes: circles of 2 sizes, rhombuses etc... i.e. :
  • Using a special scrapbooking cutter, press down on a strong piece of cardboard and work around round objects (small lids, etc.). Be careful: you need to press hard to cut the repositionable paint (which has to be thick) and the laminated pouch at the same time.
  • With a pair of thin scissors
Place the shapes around the bottle, with the painted side against the glass, then remove the piece of plastic film.

Tie two strings around the neck, doubling the length. Pass a brass wire through the knot, twice the length of the string you wish to decorate. Wrapthe brass wire around the string ina spiral, threading either a spinning top, two seed beads (one spiral apart) or a round bead.Finish the end of one string by threading a round bead. Once the four strings from the knot around the neck are decorated, tie a knot with two of them and arrange the other two (the string is stiffened by the brass, so it's easy to give it a shape).
