A driftwood photo frame

A photo frame in the spirit of nature thanks to driftwood. A frame that can also be used as a mirror
Driftwood photo frame

Supplies

Frame supplies
About thirty driftwood sticks
A 30 x 40 cm photo frame
If desired, a custom-cut mirror 29.7 x 39.7 cm (approx. 6 euros)

Materials
Drill/driver with 9 mm and 3 mm drill bits
Screws, nails, wood glue, wood paste

Fix the first 4 timbers

First, screw 4 driftwood sticks around the frame: 2 are longer and will protrude, serving as supports for the other wood to come.

My technique

On each side of the frame, fasten 1 additional piece of wood, using the protruding pieces as support.
My technique for preventing the screws from showing: - First, always screw from the rear of the frame, if possible - First, pre-drill the area where you're going to screw with the 3 mm drill bit, to prevent the wood from splitting when you screw. - Then, once the hole is made, take the 9 mm drill bit and drill over it, but only a few millimetres deep, so that the screw head can sink in slightly.

Last stage

For the sake of balance, fix the branches alternately on the right and left, top and bottom. Finally, camouflage any unsightly screw heads with wood putty. All that's left is to choose whether to use your frame as a photo frame, using the glass, or to place the mirror you've had cut to size.
