A triptych in Home Déco
The chosen frame is rectangular, allowing 3 identical squares to be placed along its length. It's made of linen, but will be entirely covered (including the sides, of course).
A small square frame will be glued onto the top square in a diamond pattern.
SinceHome Déco doesn't involve painting precise patterns, it's all about creating textural effects, using different techniques and materials:
- crackle paint: by applying a first coat of paint, then a crackle medium, and finally a second coat of paint in a contrasting shade (and always applied in the same direction), the paint will crack as it dries. Increasing the layer of crackle medium creates a relief.
- rag paint: applied to the background, in a lighter or even golden color (as in the case of the small square frame).
- thickened paint: by mixing a structural gel (up to 50% of the color paint) with the acrylic paint, you can work the paint in great thickness.
- serviettage: a paper napkin motif is carefully cut out and then glued on with glue varnish. The dark orange flower, with its strong shadow, stands out against the orange background.
- torn paper mosaic: Decopatch paper is
- torn and glued to form a central square .
- relief paint: swelling paint (textile or multi-support) can be used to emphasize shapes and create lines. Here, the Decopatch mosaic is framed with a gel paint applied with a bottle, which has the advantage of disappearing with water if you're not satisfied with the result...
- glue relief elements: elements that will also be painted or decorated can be glued to the frame to create a relief assembly. Alternatively, you can make them yourself from structure paste or modelling clay, then glue and paint them. Here, a small frame is glued to the frame. It's been painted beforehand, in the same tones but lighter and more golden, then a decorative leaf is glued on with varnish-glue.
