Painting on 3D frames with moldings

Here's a painting model on a 3D canvas stretcher with crackled mouldings, which requires very little painting technique. It's a simple model to create, combining painting and toweling, with just a few tricks up your sleeve...

The chosen frame has attractive moldings and the particularity of having cracks on the edges.
Very practical, as crackling is often difficult to achieve.
So, by using a fluid paint, the cracks remain visible for a beautiful effect. You can even create different color effects with a first coat of paint in a contrasting color, then the final color is applied to the surface, without coloring the cracks.

The entire frame is painted with color gradations so that the center is lighter, which will highlight the napkin motif

The motif is cut out of the napkin, very carefully, using small scissors with pointed tips. The back of the motif is then glued with spray varnish-glue, which has the advantage of allowing the motif to be easily positioned and even lifted again for better positioning, without the motif tearing.
To ensure that the napkin blends smoothly into the stretcher canvas, liquid varnish-glue is applied to the motif (this also smoothes the napkin's picot edges).

The entire painting can then be coated with patina to bring the colors of the towel and the paint even closer together.
