Making a mini guest book for a christening

The idea is to make a lovely little guest book for a christening, so that the baptized child can later discover all the sweet words written to him by the guests at the party, a moment of sharing in all simplicity with a simple guest book. a guest book is always a good souvenir of a family celebration or a beautiful event; for a christening, it takes on an extra dimension, since it will be discovered later by the baptized child, now grown up. As this was a double christening for girls, the books were decorated with pearls and in girly tones...

Manufacturing details

Prepare the pages to be printed on the computer: here, we've used the design of the sugared almond boxes (photo of the child in the medallion, little peacocks fluttering here and there, green herbs at the bottom and the date of the event). Print then cut out the top and bottom parts of the sheets. Fold each page in 2 independently, then assemble the booklet. On the edge, make a pencil mark 3 cm from the top and bottom edges. At these points, make a triangle-shaped notch with scissors.

Open the booklet and thread the two colored cotton cords (approx. 60 cm) through each hole. Close the booklet, sliding the cords so that the knot is against the top notch.
make a double knot, then a loop knot.
On each end of the downward-facing cords, thread a cat's-eye bead: an orange bead on the pink cord, a pink bead on the orange cord, then tie a tight knot.
On the other two ends, simply tie a knot.

The guest book is ready: with the decorated candle and the miniature homemade sugared almonds, it's a truly personalized christening!

the Mots de Bois boutique offers a personalized wooden guest book, engraved with your message and the design of your choice.
For a symbolic gift for the godmother and godfather, offer a Christian leather bracelet engraved with a biblical message, an inspirational word, or the date of the christening can be discreetly engraved on the back of the bracelet.
