FIMO paste: Colors and marbling

Magali, our Fimo and polymer clay specialist, shows us here the technique for mixing colors and creating marbling, illustrated with her photos.

" The real pleasure in FIMO or other modelling clay is to mix the colors together: either in a solid color, or in a marbling effect.

Here'sa technique for obtaining a cameo from a single color, and then returning to exactly the same tones.

Model Cut them Cut...

For

Make two long colombins of the same length (but necessarily different diameters). Wrap the thinner over the thicker and form a new, smooth coil. Fold this into thirds, tucking in each end (for a smoother mix). Stretch and flatten to form a new strand. Repeat this operation 1 to 3 times. At the last folding of the ends, instead of stretching out, re-crease the colombin while smoothing it with the flat of your hand: the marbling has formed, i.e. the secondary color is divided into several colors. The thick colombin is no longer in 2 colors, but in several declining colors. The colombin can be cut to shape beads, for example! "
