Creating fun soaps with Melt and Pour

Making homemade soaps is very easy, thanks to the Melt and Pour mixture, which allows you to produce soaps without the use of soda. Be sure to choose your Melt and Pour carefully, and check its composition: it's best to use natural or even organic ingredients. This fun and creative soap-making activity is a big hit with children.

PREPARING YOUR EQUIPMENT

Salad bowl for preparation
To make a child's soap (without the use of soda), you need to prepare your equipment: a scale, a hot plate, one or more silicone soap molds, preferably for perfect removal from the mold, a stainless steel bowl, a mini whisk, a mini spatula, and above all, to start with, disinfect all this equipment with 70° alcohol.

PREPARING INGREDIENTS

Bottles of essential oils
You'll need the following raw materials:
  • 100 gr of "melt and pour" (a ready mix of glycerine and a few additives (citric acid, sugars...), available in organic versions)
  • natural coloring powders (clays, micas, oxides or ochres)
  • natural fragrances (essential oils, fruit extracts).

PREPARING THE SOAP MIXTURE

Soap preparation
Simply crumble the Melt and Pour with a knife and melt in a bain-marie for a few minutes. Once melted, you can add the colorants and fragrances of your choice (e.g. blue oxide and 10 drops of lavender essential oil). place in molds and let harden in the open air (or in the refrigerator for faster setting)

DEMOULAGE

Demolding the melt
Once the soaps have hardened, simply unmold them gently and leave to air-dry for 24 hours before use.
You can play with shapes and colors. Here's an appetizing soap: "chocolate muffin and apricot trio". Your turn to play...
